We place high importance on fulfilling these requests promptly while adhering to regulatory guidelines. To expedite access, patients with a portal account can often retrieve their documents swiftly by using the patient portal. As our medical records clerk works part-time, requests are typically processed within 30 days, considering the urgency and nature of the request.
By accessing your patient portal, you can print your records at home for free. In accordance with Maine State Law, a reasonable fee will be charged for our medical records clerk to process and provide copies of your records. The charge for the copies or the report may not exceed the reasonable costs incurred by the agency in making and providing the copies or the records. The charge for the copies of the records is $5 for the first page and 45¢ for each additional page, up to a maximum of $250 for the entire treatment record. Upon receiving your request, we will send you an invoice with a link to pay online, or you can submit a bank check/money order to Alternative Wellness Services, 419 Alfred St. Biddeford, ME 04005.
