We take four students from various colleges and universities.

Each year, we take approximately four students from various colleges and universities across the country and provide learning opportunities within our Outpatient Therapy department. Our Masters level students are provided with an immersive experience doing individual and group counseling alongside seasoned professionals. Our graduate-level students are trained in a variety of skills, including documentation, communication and rapport building, self-reflection, cultural competency, crisis planning, biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessments as well as treatment plan writing, and much more.

The opportunities for personal and professional development are vast in this placement. Students are provided with weekly individual supervision from a licensed clinician, as well as monthly group supervision.

Students will be able to work independently as well as alongside experienced clinicians.

Our goal at AWS is to provide a safe and supportive training ground for students to develop their clinical skills. We look for individuals passionate about helping others in a nonjudgmental, empowering manner. Our commitment is to support your learning goals and help develop the counselor you dream of becoming!
