Kathryn Brandstein

LCSW, CADC, MHRT-C

Welcome! My name is Kathryn Brandstein (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) offering mental health, substance use, and co-occurring therapy.

I am currently providing both in-person and telehealth services through Alternative Wellness Services in Biddeford Maine. I provide therapy for children and adults starting at age 10 and am an LGBTQIA+ affirming provider.

I cater my therapy approach to each of my client’s individual needs and work with individuals to identify and utilize their strengths in meaningful ways. Many of us learn to avoid, deny, and shove away challenging emotions, which is an effective short-term tool, but ultimately doesn’t provide long-term benefits. I work with people to lean into that discomfort at their own pace and move towards a more emotionally rich and meaningful life.

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, crocheting, reading, and playing board games.
